4/5-SPEED ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
The transmission is controlled electronically by a separate Transmission Control Module (TCM) that works interactively with the Engine Control Module (ECM) to provide smoother shifting and more efficiency, and to increase the service life of the transmission.
  • 4-speed - 4-speed transmission effectively matches engine output to driving needs.
  • 5-speed - 5-speed transmission optimizes shift quality, performance, and fuel economy.
  • Gated console shifter - Gated shifter provides precise control of gearshift selection and a sporty shifting feel.
  • Manual shift mode - In manual mode, the driver can change gears by moving the shift lever forward to up shift the transmission or rearward to downshift.
  • Gearshift position shown in instrument cluster - Gearshift positions are shown in the instrument cluster for easier recognition.
  • Transmission shift interlock - Interlock design prevents shifting from "Park" position without first applying brakes.
  • Fail-safe mode - This mode enables the transmission to function in a reduced capacity (locked in 3rd gear) in case of electronic malfunction, high transmission oil temperature, or low transmission oil level, helping the driver to reach a safe destination.
